A(I)BILITIES at DAS 2026

Validating scientific research through academic recognition and international dialogue is a core pillar of the A(I)BILITIES project. Part of the research outcomes achieved by the implementation team was presented at the 18th International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS 2026), held in Suceava.

Representing the A(I)BILITIES consortium, Irina Petrariu (VP of Research at ASSIST Software) took the international stage to present the co-authored research paper: "A Comparative Study of Regression Techniques for Touch-based Input and Adaptive User Interfaces." This study is the result of close collaboration among the project partners, bringing forward new AI-driven methods specifically designed to transform how we interact with touchscreens.

The presentation captured the attention of the global Human-Computer Interaction community, drawing particular interest from Professor Jean Vanderdonckt, a world-renowned authority in user interface engineering and adaptive systems. This high-level exchange with external domain experts underscores the international relevance and technical rigor of the data models and predictive regression techniques being developed by the A(I)BILITIES consortium to create interfaces that dynamically reshape themselves according to a user's unique capabilities.
