A(I)BILITIES at ASSIST Open Doors 2026

The collaboration between ASSIST Software and Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava continues to create valuable opportunities for dialogue between academia and the IT industry. During Open Doors 2026, organized by ASSIST Software at Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava, on November 4, participants had the opportunity to learn about the A(I)BILITIES project and its recent results.

The event brought together students interested in artificial intelligence, digital accessibility, and software development. Through the project presentation, they learned how artificial intelligence can help reduce barriers to technology use and support the creation of more inclusive digital experiences.

A(I)BILITIES: From Research to Practical Solutions

During the discussions, the ASSIST representatives discussed the project’s objectives and the progress of the solutions developed within it. Participants learned how artificial intelligence can automatically generate adaptive mobile user interfaces tailored to users’ individual abilities and needs.

The A(I)BILITIES platform includes a software architecture and a software development kit, known as an SDK. These components allow developers to integrate adaptive interfaces into mobile applications. In this way, accessibility can be considered directly throughout the development process.

A Dialogue Between Research, Industry, and Students

Open Doors provided a suitable setting to discuss how research results can be transformed into practical solutions for everyday life. The collaboration between Ștefan cel Mare University of Suceava and ASSIST Software supports this process by bringing together academic expertise and experience from the software industry.

For students, the A(I)BILITIES presentation offered an opportunity to explore concrete examples of assistive technologies and to understand the role of inclusive design. The discussions highlighted that responsible technology development requires attention to the diversity of users and the barriers they may encounter.
